74. Planning a Successful & Rejuvenating Retreat With Hannah & Victoria
After a couple of intense years involving travel bans, isolations, and everything in between, people are craving in-person connection more than ever! In 2022 we will see a lot more retreats involved in masterminds, offer suites and programs as entrepreneurs begin to jump on board this idea of infusing more in-person connection into their business and brand. Today's episode is an enjoyable conversation with two special guests, Victoria Franca & Hannah Nieves, all about the nitty-gritty details of planning successful retreats. We discuss everything from the brainstorming process to pricing your retreat to creating a rejuvenating experience and environment right from the beginning. In this episode, we cover… How to start the planning process Creating a rejuvenating environment Brainstorming & planning the event Planning the pricing of a retreat Tips for preparing a successful retreat "I think it comes down to the small details of when people actually come to the retreat itself. It's really this embodied experience. So whether you're doing this as a standalone retreat for your business or thinking about incorporating it into your mastermind, it's the embodiment thing that you're working on. for example, if it's business and wellness, it's infusing that into your mastermind. Maybe it's more along with the travel and adventure element as well. It's really I think, just defining what it means for your brand." "I think if we think about luxury settings and luxury, hospitality, it starts from that moment you book the experience. So a retreat is not an event; it's an experience. It's really important that it starts the moment you sign up for it and that you are wowed by that initial moment." 73. How to Stand Out and Deliver a High Quality Service
The online service provider industry continues to grow and shift rapidly. While there is still so much room for more people, you need to turn your marketing focus towards standing out and delivering high standards. There is a fine line between taking messy action and elevating your craft to stand out (based on your services, skills, and delivery), which is what this episode is all about. I also want to open up a much-needed conversation around the lack of quality and delivery of service providers as this space gets noisier. Tune in until the end, as I will be providing actionable steps to help you stand out the right way in your industry no matter where you are in your business journey. In this episode, we cover… How to stand out based on your services, skills and delivery Creating a smooth game plan for your processes The fine line between messy action and elevating your craft Having 6 figure foundations from the beginning How to show up from day one "From a brand and a marketing standpoint to stand out online, most people are not talking about the power of standing out, which comes from being the freakin best of being damn good at what you do. And how that starts to make you stand out. That starts to help you grow exponentially fast." "Word travels fast, and it carries a lot of weight. I say continuously that your brand reputation is the literal most valuable thing. Not only from like getting clients, but also from a PR perspective and you know, people telling their friends to follow you and people wanting you to be a guest on their podcast or their program right like this is beyond just making money from clients. When you're good at your craft that helps you stand out, right, you become the best you become the go-to." "There are going to be doubts in your head no matter what you do but there's a huge difference in the people who get the skills they need in and the skill sets to deliver and show up on fire, versus the people who try to piece it all together and are not showing up with the standard quality to deliver and are wondering why the business isn't growing and why they're not standing out. 72. How Breakdowns Lead To Breakthroughs
2021 has been one of my best years in business. I've hit significant milestones and achieved a lot of goals, but behind the scenes, it has also been one of the most challenging years personally and in my business. I know this is the same for a lot of people on this entrepreneurial journey, so as we near the end of 2021, I wanted to share a positive message and lesson about breakdowns and low points. In this episode, I'm going to be realistic about my experience over the past year; then, I want to dive into this concept around breakdowns and offer you some new perspectives, shifts, and inspiration. If you feel like you are breaking down, if you feel like you are at a low point, that things are not working, This breakdown can be the catalyst to your next breakthrough. In this episode, we cover… A personal note; a reflection of my personal and business life this year Recognizing patterns How to prevent getting caught up in the breakdown Letting go of control A new perspective on how to see your breakdowns "You have to be open to allow changes and to allow the challenge of whatever you're going through to expand and grow." "One mistake that I do believe we make is getting caught up in the breakdown and viewing it as a hurdle right now, or you start to lose hope when you feel like there's no end in sight. So when you start to spiral and get caught up in the breakdown and view it as eternal, you can step into victim mode." 71. The 4 Different Buyer Types (And How to Sell to Them) with Natasha Zyrok
Successful high ticket launches and booked-out services with waitlists are not luck or a fluke. A lot of things come into play when entrepreneurs see success in their business and sales. There are skills and strategies involved, and one of these highly effective strategies is psychology around sales and buyer types. Implementing marketing strategies that speak to all buyer types has been proven to benefit sales in your business. Today's guest Natasha Zyrok is a business mentor who has scaled her business to achieve massive growth, reaching $200k + launches (without even posting on her IG Grid). Natasha has mastered the tactics of sales psychology and buyer types. In this episode, Natasha breaks down the different buyer types and explains the psychology of selling to each type effectively. In this episode, we cover… The four different buyer types Where most people get stuck in the sales process How to implement sales psychology Creating content to target each buyer type How to sell high ticket without posting every day "A lot of people say, sell the way you would buy. I couldn't agree less with that. Because no, that's the issue, you sell the way you think people will buy, but you don't know them. The best thing about sales psych is its customization to the person. It's not about you; it's about them." "You have to be consistent in the beginning but test things out. Don't let anyone ever tell you, you have to do something and believe there is only one way. There are 1,000,001 ways to scale and be successful. I'm living proof, and you're living proof." 70. Understanding & Mastering Leadership With Tomasha Suber
In the world of entrepreneurship, ideas around building authority and becoming a CEO are spoken about right from the beginning; we almost glorify these ideas before we even think about what this means for us as business owners. There is a critical skill that ties in with entrepreneurship and becoming a CEO that has not spoken about enough in this space, and that is Leadership. In this episode, I am chatting with leadership expert Tomasha Suber. Tomasha Suber helps female business owners master their Leadership, learn how to leverage their roles, and ultimately infuse luxury into their lifestyle, utilizing the skills they currently have. In this episode, we are diving into all things leadership, Tomasha shares with us what it really means to be a leader, how to embody and take on being a leader of yourself, your team, clients and lead a successful lifestyle In this episode, we cover… Leadership development The ability to influence other people Receiving feedback from your clients and team Making decisions as a leader Learning more about who you are and how to work with your strengths "feedback is to be used; not to be owned, whether it's from a client or team member, we should be utilizing the feedback more and more and more." "Leadership is about the actions that you take, regardless of what is right, regardless of what people see, or what you think people know. " "When it comes to authority - I think when I think about a leader, I think about someone who is not just an action taker, but who is very good at being able to make decisions. And this is a huge thing that I've noticed with people is that everyone wants to talk about the people who take action." 69. Navigating Industry Changes: Is It Time to Pivot or Expand?
It's that time of year again, where we start to plan out everything for the new year. We look at things like our strategy, launches, income goals, and so much more, but while planning is excellent, I want to get you thinking about how you might want to pivot or expand your business in the new year. In this episode, I break down the different ways you can look at growing your business. I also share the trends and shifts that I am currently seeing within the industry and deep dive into the pieces and parts of these changes to help you understand and recognize what will be relevant to you and your business. In this episode, we cover… Marketing shifts we are going to start seeing in 2022 Recognizing industry trends Expansion within your business Creating an omnichannel presence PR and when to incorporate that into your marketing strategy Tracking your strategies "How can I stay ahead of the trends? How is the industry changing? How can I address that and be ahead of the curve? As a business owner, you have to keep up with this ever-changing market and recognize what pieces and parts of that are going to be relevant to you." "Make sure that you're being intentional about expanding the impact and the brand overall, with each new offer. I often see people get excited and immediately be like, "I want to add a course," and might not even know what it is. Or say things like, "I want to be able to bring in passive income." The thing is, even when you create a course, it's not going to sell itself, and I think that's one of the biggest misconceptions for some people.” "The marketing surrounding overnight successes, and six figures in six months type of thing can create a lot of seemingly unrealistic expectations that then can contribute to mental health, pressure, and burnout." 68. How Burnout and Chronic Stress Can Affect You as an Entrepreneur With Dr. Amanda Chay
Building a business is a lot of work, especially in the beginning 'solopreneur' stage. We often have a lot on our plate, and we tend to put consistent pressure on ourselves. Experiencing burnout, overwhelm, and chronic stress is all too familiar in the entrepreneurial space; however, understanding what you're experiencing, how it's affecting you, and your limits are crucial for preventing the physical and mental effects of long-term stress. In this episode, we are diving into all things around burnout and chronic stress as an entrepreneur with Dr. Amanda Shea. Dr. Amanda Chay is a Naturopathic Physician, store owner, and business consultant for wellness professionals. Running a busy clinic, online education platform, and brick & mortar store, she realized the most common cause of hormone imbalance and chronic disease was chronic stress. Her background as both a doctor and owner/founder of multiple corporations has made her an expert in optimizing wellness and peak performance in body, mind, and business. In this episode, we cover… Chronic Stress, What it means and how to identify it Recognizing the signs of burnout The difference between chronic stress and burnout The connection between cortisol and inflammation Actionable steps for recovery from burnout Setting and defining boundaries for preventing overwhelm and stress "When you're in that chronic fight or flight mode, like you have so much on your plate, you were late for the bus, or you got in a fight with your spouse, whatever it is, all these little things, our bodies start increasing cortisol. So you're always in this kind of high cortisol state. And that's when people tend to feel more anxious and overwhelmed, tired, but wired." "burnout is so hard to define because it's not actually like a medical condition. I think of it as typically, like low crash cortisol." "I think as entrepreneurs, we're always in the thinking, growing, expanding kind of phase in our mind. It's like, oh, what's next? What other cool things could I do? It's hard, I think, for entrepreneurs to be in the moment of being like, look at what I have and what's here. I think we're always kind of chasing the next thing. And that makes it hard just to calm down and be in the moment." 67. Why I Quit Being a Digital Nomad (For Now)
Last week I made a big life decision and life change. I didn't even know it was coming or that I would be mentioning this on the podcast, but I have decided to quit being a digital nomad. Now I'm not quitting the travel lifestyle forever, but there are times throughout your journey when you have to reset, recalibrate and learn to follow what your body is telling you. In this episode, I dive into some personal big life decisions and changes I am making, most of which I would never have thought I would be saying. I also want to share my views on what freedom really means, the importance of decision making and making those decisions from the right place, and how to balance life and business so you can enjoy a healthy base level of happiness and live a lifestyle free of choice. In this episode, we cover… The reasoning behind this significant life change The sentence I thought I would never say Tuning in to your body and intuition How to balance lifestyle and business to keep thriving The importance of decision making has when it comes to that feeling of freedom What freedom actually means "You always have the power of choice; you're never stuck, right? Like, all of us want that choice. And we derive stability and security. And thus, you know, freedom or feeling like we have freedom a lot of times comes from money, which is why so many of us, of course, you know, want money and wealth, and I'm all freaking about that. But ultimately, freedom comes down to having a choice, right." "Freedom of choice, it's so powerful and such a representation of success in your business. But freedom is also about learning to trust yourself. And what I mean by that is more of internal freedom." 66. Why Resting Is Productive For Your Business (& Makes You Money)
Are you actually being productive with your time? Or are you staying busy and working 24/7 in your business without the results to show for it? I hate to break it to you, but more work doesn’t necessarily equate to more money. What if I told you that resting and recharging will do more for you and your business than working nonstop ever will? Look, you probably don’t need to be convinced that rest is good, but you might need to rewire the internal narrative telling you that rest is bad. In today’s episode, I am sharing --from someone who used to have this core belief to someone who now operates very differently-- how resting and recharging will 100% amplify your business growth and be seen as a money-making activity. I’m going deep on topics like how to use your natural energy to do more in less time, why cranking through your to-do list is a different mode to high-level, strategic thinking (and why rest impacts both), and the four biggest fears surrounding rest that might prevent you from actually resting and prioritizing recharging yourself. This episode is so necessary, especially if you’re an entrepreneur trying to do all the things in your business. Click that play button to learn why prioritizing rest will help you get productive, motivated, and creative again. In this episode, we cover… What happens when you don’t rest and recharge The seven different types of rest and why they are all important How to shift the alternative perspective of rest The grey area between working like crazy and laziness Why your energy management will help determine how you need to rest and recharge “Recognize that rest is a choice, and it’s a reflection of your values. You have to value rest to choose it and to allow it to recharge you.” - Amanda Kolbye “If you start to value rest, you’ll start choosing it more, and your actions will start to realign to make rest present and apparent and a priority in your life and in the way that you operate.” - Amanda Kolbye “When you learn how to incorporate rest and recharging into your normal life, I promise, you will come back 10 times more powerful and 10 times more productive and efficient. With brilliant ideas just spewing out of you. You will amplify your income and your business growth, and you’re going to feel good doing it.” - Amanda Kolbye Thanks for listening, and if you like what you’ve heard, feel free to share this episode with your friends!
