In this sermon, we focus on Jesus’ ascension in Acts 1:6–11 and explore three realities from His final moments on earth: Jesus doesn’t always give us what we want, He promises the Holy Spirit and the mission, and He ascends in glory with the promise to return in power. As we take part in God’s mission—loving our city, planting churches in the West, and bringing the gospel to the nations—we are reminded that this work is done not in our own strength, but through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

As we kick off our new study, Acts, Pastor Scott Worthington preached from Acts 1:1-5. After His resurrection, Jesus spent forty days with His disciples, teaching them about one central theme: the Kingdom of God. God is reigning now, yet the world still longs for the fullness of His rule—what Scripture calls the “already, not yet.” In this message, we explore what the Kingdom of God is, why it matters today, and how Jesus invites us to pray, live, and participate in God’s reign until He returns.

As we wrapped up Hope for the World 2025, we focused on how each of us can take part in engaging the nations with the gospel. Pastor Scott Worthington preached from Colossians 4:2–4.
