#90 - Kylie Morton, Head of Change at SynergyIQ on the one thing leaders need to understand about ‘change’

In this episode, Kylie Morton, Head of Change at Synergy IQ explains why she doesn't believe that people are generally averse or 'resistant' to change—and why that's a problem. Why is it that we’re all apparently ‘fatigued by change’, but we rarely do anything to change the way we navigate change?Kylie wants us to rethink the way we approach change. She wants less:focus on placating the change 'resister', the noisy fewprocess, meetings, project plans, top-down directivesAnd what does she want? Well, you'll have to listen to this episode  to find out, but I can tell you it starts with us challenging this assumption that we're change resistant or fatigued by change... (because really, we're just having a reaction to change that has been poorly managed). And she has a whole new approach to managing change which she outlines in this episode. This is a must-listen for all leaders.Books  mentioned in this episode:Atomic Habits By: James ClearWhere to find Kylie MortonLinkedInJoin the conversation on Synergy IQ on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram (@synergyiq).Access SynergyIQ Website to get to know more about us. Say hello to our host Daniel Franco on LinkedIn.

#89 - Anton Andreacchio, founder of Convergen Group, Co-founder of Jumpgate, and Serial Prominent Board Member

New episode in #CreatingSynergyPodcast with Anton Andreacchio who owns five companies and is on six prominent Adelaide boards. But here’s what you probably don’t know about him: He founded his first company, the Convergen Group, at the age of 22, which has become one of Australia’s leading companies in infrastructure visualisation. His second company Jumpgate was ridiculed, until it became the “next big thing”.He says entrepreneurs should ask themselves three simple questions when evaluating their ideas, "Do you have an idea? Do you believe it'll work? Are you willing to go after it?" He believes we spend too much time on the 'theatre' of entrepreneurship (and what we should be focussed on instead). He actively removes himself from projects and the mental models he uses to manage five separate businesses and six board roles. As the Chair of the Adelaide Film Festival, he’s obsessed with storytelling, the commercialisation of creative industries,  and thinks most South Australians don’t understand our reputation in this space.  There's a reason Anton has been so successful and is on so many boards, including the South Australian Entrepreneurship Advisory Board; he’s refreshingly wise and is all about creating value. Get Anton into your ears now! Books  mentioned in this episode:  The Rise and Fall of the Neoliberal Order By: Gary Gerstle  Thinking, Fast and Slow By: Daniel Kahneman Where to find Anton AndreacchioLinkedInJoin the conversation on Synergy IQ on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram (@synergyiq).Access SynergyIQ Website to get to know more about us. Say hello to our host Daniel Franco on LinkedIn.
