The special council looking into some classified and top-secret documents found in President Biden’s possession will not be filing charges in the case. Robert Hur’s report on the matter came out yesterday. While he clears the president on one hand, with the other, he indicates the president is forgetful. In not charging President Biden, Hur reasoned it was because he would present to a jury as an elderly man “with a poor memory.” That may hurt in an election year where age is becoming an issue. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is not being impeached after all. Despite weeks of boasts from Republicans in Congress that they would send him a message, House Speaker Mike Johnson couldn’t muster up the votes. After chaos on the House floor, Republicans were one vote short. Then, a Republican bill to send U.S. aid to Israel died under bipartisan opposition. Add this to the fiasco over the border bill and you have a pretty embarrassing week for Congressional Republicans. The Nevada primary results are in and it turns out Republican voters want none of the candidates they’ve been offered. President Biden cleaned up on the Democrats ballot. We will talk about all of it with former KGO talkshow host and presidential historian and author, John Rothmann.

Donald Trump does not have immunity from charges he plotted to overturn his 2020 election defeat, a federal appeals court ruled, bringing the former U.S. president a step closer to an unprecedented criminal trial.A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit rejected Trump’s claim that he cannot be prosecuted because the allegations relate to his official responsibilities as president."We cannot accept that the office of the Presidency places its former occupants above the law for all time thereafter," the unanimous panel wrote.Republicans appear ready to squash the Border-Ukraine Package, The very same package they insisted on. Some lawmakers (Sen. James Lankford) who worked hard negotiating this deal may now vote against it. There is movement in the classified documents case against Trump. A new CNN poll sets President Donald Trump narrowly ahead of President Joe Biden should the two run against each other again. The survey has Trump over Biden 49-45%. Interestingly, while majorities of Democrats and Republicans are satisfied with their party’s candidates, a significant minority would prefer another option. It doesn’t look good for Trump’s D.C. trial to start in March. The case against Trump for allegedly plotting to overturn the results of the 2020 election is now off the public calendar for the federal court in D.C. It was anticipated that his claim of presidential immunity would delay proceedings. Tesla Is being sued by 25 California counties for allegedly getting rid of hazardous waste materials improperly at places they were not authorized to do so. A lawsuit was filed in San Joaquin County this week. It also alleges that Tesla didn’t label hazardous materials properly at its facilities or train employees how to handle it. So far, no comment from Tesla. Political reporter Michael Shure will be in to talk about it all. Albert has put together a stellar collection of stories from Florida. A dispute between Texas Republicans and the Biden administration over the Southern border has brought some calls for Texas to secede from the U.S. Though it may seem far fetched, GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley was asked about the idea. She said Texas has the right to secede from the federal union, but that they won’t. She once again affirmed that she believes in state's rights. What does the Constitution say about states rights to secede? It’s reportedly the single largest purchase of political advertising by an outside group in the history of American political campaigns.
