A Trump takeover of the Republican National Committee means as many as 60 staff members are now laid off. The new Trump backed leadership did a staff evaluation to verify everyone at the RNC is aligned with his vision of how to win in November. Some of the staffers affected are being asked to resign and reapply for a position on the team. President Biden‘s extensive experience reaching across the aisle to get things done was on full display during his speech at the US-Mexico border in Brownsville, Texas. He directed his message to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who stood in the way of a border deal to keep President Biden from claiming it as a success. The President asked Trump to, “ join me…or I’ll join you” and we will get this done. He reminded Trump in a passionate plea that this deal is what is best for America. They are telling the President they will withhold support unless he changes his handling of the Israel’-Hamos conflict. Trump’s win came with another showing from a significant number of Republicans who voted against him. It doesn’t inspire confidence in a swing state that went for President Biden in 2020.
