more about Karim: Karim is a photographer, filmmaker, and whale guide based between Iceland and Hawaii. Karim co-founded Kogia, a nonprofit media library and fellowship program devoted to protecting marine life through storytelling raised in the Middle East and Asia. Karim's curiosity for hidden worlds beneath the sea, within wild places and even beyond Earth continues to guide his work, his images and films published by National Geographic and BBC Earth focused on endangered animals and fragile ecosystems, reminding us what is at stake. In 2021, Karim was chosen for Dear Moon, the first civilian mission to orbit the moon aboard SpaceX Starship.
