The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson joins Kyle Meredith to talk about the band's new album, Happiness Bastards, which marks their first collection of new material since 2009.Inspired by his experience of touring Shake Your Money Maker for its 30th anniversary and the writing of Bob Dylan, Robinson explains how he attempted to take his lyrics to a new level for Happiness Bastards. Looking towards some of the all time greats, Robinson sought to harness the dark romance of rock 'n' roll through stories and images, all while leaving room for the listener's own interpretation.At the same time Robinson was focusing on the album's many tales, he and the band were cranking away in the studio. For the Happiness Bastards sessions, the band wrote many more songs than ultimately don't appear on the record.
