778 – The Importance of Sales Follow Up with Liz Wolfe
The Art of Authentic Selling with Liz Wolfe
In a world where selling often feels like a game of relentless pitches and impersonal strategies, Liz Wolfe offers a refreshing perspective. Liz, a seasoned sales coach, entrepreneur, and professional speaker, joined us on The Thoughtful Entrepreneur to share her approach to building authentic relationships and creating success through abundance.
At the core of Liz's coaching philosophy is a rejection of outdated, high-pressure sales tactics. Instead, she emphasizes selling as a "natural expression of what you love about your business." According to Liz, the foundation of successful sales lies in building genuine relationships and understanding whether your solution truly fits a prospect’s needs.
Key Takeaways from Liz Wolfe’s Interview:
Focus on Relationships: Selling should prioritize understanding the client's problem and seeing if your solution is a match. This relationship-centered approach replaces the traditional "chase" mentality with one rooted in mutual respect and authenticity.
Mastering the Follow-Up: Liz shared striking statistics about follow-ups: most sales professionals give up after just one or two attempts. Yet, studies show it can take eight or more interactions to close a deal. Liz encourages consistency and creativity in follow-ups, using personal touches—like referencing shared interests—to stay memorable.
Embracing Rejection: One of Liz's powerful insights is reframing "no" as "not now." She explains that rejection is rarely personal; instead, it often reflects timing or circumstances. Her method involves asking questions like, “Why isn’t this a fit?” to gain clarity and build stronger future interactions.
Free Sales Training Opportunity: Liz offers a five-part sales training program that addresses common fears around selling. This resource, typically priced, is available free to podcast listeners at LizWolfeCoaching.com/salestraining.
Liz also highlighted the importance of aligning sales strategies with long-term goals. Her group coaching programs, including the "Entrepreneur Accelerator," help individuals clarify their vision and overcome hidden barriers to success.

771 – Through Vision and Beyond with Carey Conley
Transforming Lives Through Vision with Carey Conley
On this episode of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur, we had the pleasure of speaking with Carey Conley, an accomplished speaker, author, and coach who has devoted her life to helping individuals and businesses achieve clarity through vision. Splitting her time between Arizona and Oklahoma City, Carey has built a life centered on family and purpose while empowering others to live intentionally.
The Journey to Visionary Living
Carey’s story begins with a transformative moment in her 20s when she was mentored to articulate a clear vision for her life. At a time when societal norms dictated traditional career paths, Carey chose a different route. She embraced entrepreneurship, enabling her to work from home while raising her children. Over time, she transitioned from network marketing to speaking and coaching, spreading the message that "vision is victory."
However, Carey’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. After experiencing profound personal losses with the passing of her husband and son to suicide, Carey found solace in her vision. She co-authored Keep Looking Up with her daughter, a book that weaves their family’s story with actionable advice on overcoming adversity through the power of vision.
Why Vision Matters
Carey emphasizes that most people’s visions are vague aspirations rather than clear, actionable goals. Through her coaching, she introduces a structured approach: writing a vision dated three years into the future. This exercise helps people anchor their goals to specific milestones, creating a roadmap for success in personal and professional life. She also highlights the importance of addressing the fear of failure, noting that setbacks are vital learning experiences.
Vision for Young Adults
In addition to working with entrepreneurs, Carey and her daughter launched Vision is Victory Academy, a program tailored to young adults. It equips participants with tools for intentional living, covering topics like financial literacy, self-care, and boundaries. By helping young people reconnect with their authentic selves, Carey’s mission extends beyond traditional coaching.
