Grading Super Bowl LV Storylines: Patrick Mahomes vs. Tom Brady with GOAT status on the line (Football 2/2)
The Pick Six Superfriends are here to talk about Super Bowl storylines. Will Brinson, Ryan Wilson and John Breech are not in Tampa, but they are able to explore what this week typically looks like based on plenty of past trips (5:00). They also discuss the latest iteration of Media Day which has turned into virtual Zooms this year due to COVID-19 (12:30). Next, they rank stories surrounding Chiefs vs. Bucs based on their interest level. Obviously, Tom Brady vs. Patrick Mahomes is getting a majority of the focus (14:40), but how intriguing is GOAT vs. Baby GOAT? The guys continue the discussion that if Brady wins this one, it will be virtually impossible for Mahomes to catch up. Also, Kansas City establishing a budding dynasty has also been a focal point for the media. And if they win on Sunday, they'll be well on their way. But what truly defines a dynasty? Brinson, Wilson and Breech share their thoughts. More storylines include the angle of the Bucs playing at home, Travis Kelce aiming to eventually supplant Rob Gronkowski as the greatest tight end ever and Steelers outcasts Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown chasing a ring.'Pick Six' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox and wherever else you listen to podcasts. Evaluating Aaron Rodgers' future in Green Bay and what's next for Matthew Stafford and Deshaun Watson (Football 1/27)
The Super Bowl awaits but amidst the conversation around the big game, there's plenty of quarterback drama around the league that doesn't involve Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. On this episode, Will Brinson is joined by Brady Quinn to break down the futures of Aaron Rodgers (9:15), Matthew Stafford (23:00) and Deshaun Watson (34:15). Let's not rush to get Rodgers out of Green Bay. There are definitely lingering questions with the presence of 2020 1st-round pick Jordan Love, but the Packers probably aren't ready to hand over the team just yet. Brady also breaks down the timing of the Stafford split and how the organizational structure will play a role in his departure. And of course, we have to provide the latest updates with the Texans in the trade talks of the offseason that simply won't go away.'Pick Six' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox and wherever else you listen to podcasts. Early Super Bowl LV Betting Preview: Chiefs-Bucs Spread/Total Breakdown & Picks (Football 1/26)
We're nearly two weeks away from Super Bowl LV, but gambling is already a focus. On this episode, Will Brinson is joined by Kenny White to break down Chiefs-Bucs from a betting perspective. First, the guys assess their conference championship picks (1:00), before evaluating the big game. Kansas City opened as 3.5-point favorites but the spread has settled in at 3 and Kenny doesn't foresee much movement coming (7:30). NFL Conference Championship Recap: Bucs-Chiefs set for Super Bowl LV as Tom Brady makes 10th appearance and Kansas City looks to go back-to-back (Football 1/25)
Super Bowl LV is set. Tom Brady will be back on the big stage, but this time leading a different team from a different conference. Meanwhile, the defending champs will look to defend their crown. The Bucs beat the Packers and the Chiefs beat the Bills to get to our matchup in Tampa in two weeks. On this episode, Will Brinson is joined by Ryan Wilson and John Breech to break down the conference championship games and look ahead to the Super Bowl. First, the guys have to discuss Matt LaFleur's decision making at the end of the NFC Championship Game (3:00). Why kick in that situation? Aaron Rodgers distanced himself from the decision and our crew tends to do the same. They also break down defensive lapses from the Packers and Kevin King, a somewhat controversial late pass interference call and much more. Rodgers outplayed Brady, but that didn't lead to the result you'd think. Then, the Pick Six Superfriends analyze Kansas City's dominant defeat of Buffalo and ability to flip the switch in the AFC Championship Game (34:00). Andy Reid could be the best coach on the planet right now and his team is clicking headed back to another Super Bowl. Brinson, Wilson and Breech begin to set the scene for Tampa with much more to come on the Pick Six podcast. Finally, they finish with winners & losers from championship Sunday (55:30).'Pick Six' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox and wherever else you listen to podcasts.
