We've made it to the secondary and our last group of prospect position rankings. Will Brinson welcomes on Josh Edwards to break down his top 10 defensive backs, combining both cornerbacks and safeties onto the same list. It's a list that includes several players with famous football-playing fathers including #10 Asante Samuel Jr, #5 Jaycee Horn and #1 Patrick Surtain II. Trevon Moehrig out of TCU is the highest-rated safety according to Josh, but the Top 10 is dominated by CBs. Time to tackle the top EDGE and LB prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft and to do so, Will Brinson welcomes on Josh Edwards for his Top 5 guys at each position. 2 Miami players make the list at EDGE, but neither hold the top spot. Who holds that distinction (2:45)? We also examine the LBs (22:45) with a focus on who could be the 1st player off the board. Micah Parsons out of Penn State is the obvious answer, but Will and Josh try to look for value. The prospect rankings continue as Chris Trapasso joins Will Brinson to break down his top offensive line and defensive line players in the 2021 NFL Draft. We start with the side that has much more enticing prospects and that's the OL (4:30). Alijah Vera-Tucker is a promising player out of USC climbing up draft boards, but Trapasso has him lower than most because he thinks he projects on the interior at the next level. Rashawn Slater could be considered the consensus #2 tackle prospect, but Chris has him lower. There's no hesitation in labeling Penei Sewell the best of the bunch, but that doesn't mean there is value on him to be the first OL selected. Christian Darrisaw might be worth thinking about as a value play though. Next, the guys switch sides and hit on the top DTs in this class (24:45). This episode continues to cover skill position prospects in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft. Emory Hunt joins Will Brinson to focus on the running backs in this year's class. 2 UNC RBs land inside the Top 10, but Emory ranks 1 much higher and 1 much lower than the consensus. Last week we covered the quarterbacks and this week we're hitting all the other positions, previewing the top prospects in each group. On this episode Ryan Wilson joins Will Brinson to break down the top wide receivers and tight ends in the 2021 NFL Draft. But first, the guys offer their reactions to the end of a super impressive career from Alex Smith (4:15). Smith announced his retirement on Monday after years as an above-average quarterback and one of the most miraculous comebacks in league history. Then, Ryan dishes his Top 10 WR prospect rankings (13:15). Pay attention to names like Rondale Moore, Amari Rodgers and Tylan Wallace as we get to Day 2 and beyond. But up top is where the real focus is as Ja'Marr Chase, DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle are in a class of their own. We analyze what's so special about their games and where they could be selected. Then, our attention shifts to the tight ends led by Kyle Pitts (41:00). It's the penultimate Mock Draft Monday this season as we take a deep look at Ryan Wilson's Big Board of prospects. Trevor Lawrence is #1 and there's not much more to say about him that hasn't been said already. After Lawrence though, things get interesting. The guys examine certain discrepancies between Big Board Ranking and where Ryan has these prospects slated to go in his latest mock.
