Alright Mary is two parts Drag Race viewing party, one part queer studies lecture and a healthy dose of obscure pop culture references, all wrapped in a nuanced layer of dad jokes and pun-offs served weekly with a side of piping-hot tea. Reduce, reuse, revolt! The monsters are turning trash into fashion this week and making magic happen with markers for makeup. Priscilla has a moment interrupted by Hollow having a moment before rising to the top of the trash heap in the floor show (and interview with Season 2 pizza queen/calzone queen Disasterina!) But the real drama was what we didn’t see re: Hollow’s censored look and subsequent meltdown, bringing up a lot of questions around what’s allowed on TV and what is an apparent nightmare for all platforms. If you're looking for a wonderful way to end a televised drag competition, look no further. This season 2 finale really stepped it up in terms of production, emotion, and drama.
