Was Augustine the first to introduce "CALVINISM" into the Church?

Dr. Leighton Flowers, Director of Evangelism and Apologetics for Texas Baptists, interviews one of today's foremost Augustinian scholars, Dr. Ken Wilson. Dr. Wilson graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Texas system, followed by an Orthopedic Residency and Hand Fellowship. He then taught as a full-time academic professor at Oregon’s medical school for many years. While maintaining his hand surgery practice, Dr. Wilson decided to pursue theology. He graduated magna cum laude from Faith Lutheran Seminary with a M.Div. degree, then magna cum laude from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with a Th.M. degree. Dr. Wilson attended The University of Oxford in the United Kingdom where he received his doctorate in theology with the thesis, “Augustine’s Conversion from Traditional Free Choice to ‘Non-free Free Will’: A Comprehensive Methodology.“ More about Dr. Wilson can be found here: https://www.gracetheology.org/authors/ken-wilson/ To SUPPORT this broadcast please click here: https://soteriology101.com/support/ To ORDER Dr. Flowers Curriculum “Tiptoeing Through Tulip” please click here: https://soteriology101.com/shop/ To listen to the audio only be sure to subscribe on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play or one of the other podcast players found here: https://soteriology101.com/home/ For more about Traditionalism (or Provisionism) please visit www.soteriology101.com Dr. Flowers’ book, “The Potter’s Promise” can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/Potters-Promise-Biblical-Traditional-Soteriology/dp/0692561846/ref=nodl_ To engage with other believers cordially join our Facebook group: https://m.facebook.com/groups/1806702782965265/?ref=group_header&view=group For updates and news follow us at: www.facebook/Soteriology101 Or @soteriology101 on Twitter Please SHARE on Facebook and Twitter and help spread the word! Does Mark Driscoll Reject Calvinism?

Dr. Leighton Flowers, Director of Evangelism and Apologetics for Texas Baptists, plays a recent sermon from Pastor Mark Driscoll teaching on 6 different views of soteriology, focusing specifically on his objections to Calvinism's affirmation of double predestination as in contrast to single predestination taught by Lutheranism. Romans 9: Are Calvinists Consistent?

Dr. Leighton Flowers, Director of Evangelism and Apologetics for Texas Baptists, provides a cordial critique of John Piper who attempts to explain how Roman 9 teaches unconditional individual election unto salvation while still maintaining a conditional individual election unto damnation. James White's Continued Critique of Andy Stanley

Dr. Leighton Flowers continues to reply to Dr. White's fallacious critique of the Andy Stanley interview and corrects White's misunderstanding of the debate over Middle Knowledge even among Calvinists. Several notable Calvinists, such as Dr. Bruce Ware of Southern Seminary, affirm Middle Knowledge because they understand (as does Dr. Flowers) that it is not synonymous with affirming the whole of Molina's philosophy.
