Moonshine Heritage with Henry Law, Star of Moonshiners on Discovery; plus Colby Helms and Sandra Aranegui

For this show we set up at the Franklin County Moonshine Heritage Festival, held at the Crazy Horse Marina. We had a great show as we welcomed Henry Law, Star of Discovery TV show "Moonshiners" and man behind Laws Choice Distillery. We discussed some moonshine history from Franklin County, the Great Moonshine Conspiracy, along with some stories of Trooper Don Riddle Sr, grandfather of host Billy Riddle. We also welcomed Sandra Aranegui of Lovers Rock Productions and organizer of the event. We talked about a Moonshine Heritage Trail, local music, her ambitions, future events, with a fresh scoop on a band coming to play the Smith Mountain Lake Music Festival. Our last guest was artists Colby Helms and John Vance. Both were part of the musical acts playing the festival, and Colby is a previous guest (and fan favorite) of the show. We went into some recent news about his album, representation, upcoming shows, and we sang the praises of 5 Point Music Sanctuary. http://www.patreon.com/getontaphttps://www.appalachianpodcast.orghttps://www.facebook.com/AppalachianPodcasthttps://twitter.com/GetOnTaphttps://www.instagram.com/theappalachianpodcast/https://www.facebook.com/harwellgricehttps://www.facebook.com/LawsChoicehttps://www.facebook.com/MoonshinersTVhttps://www.facebook.com/LoversRockProductionsSupport the show

Twenty Years: Boots on the Ground, Iraq-with Emmette Bird, James Adams, Wes Brickey, Casey Brannon, Poo, and a cameo from "The Old Man"

In this show we mark the 20th Anniversary of the 1032nd combat deployment, who took off on April 4th, 2003 to enter the War in Iraq. Soldiers from Moonshine hollers, to coal country, and everywhere in-between came together, in a wild time, with no real understanding of why they were even there. In this show we get perspectives from all around as we welcomed back Emmette Bird, Casey Brannon, and Poo, with Wes Brickey for the first time in a year, and for the first time James Adams. This is a great show that'll give you a new respect from the average man who was asked to to above average tasks!!https://www.patreon.com/GetOnTaphttps://www.appalachianpodcast.orghttps://www.facebook.com/AppalachianPodcasthttps://twitter.com/GetOnTaphttps://www.facebook.com/harwellgriceSupport the show

**Subscriber ONLY Free Preview** Missing Dogs Found, Bad Decisions by Cops, and Solar Farms

Every few weeks we try to release a "Subscriber Only Show" over at Patreon.com/getontapThis is a free preview into one of those shows, we hope you enjoy. It's only $3/Month minimum, and you'll be doing us a great favor as we work to build around our wonderful Appalachian Communities! We're back with another subscriber show, and we dove heavy into some shit stirring topics. First we discussed the recent incident  involving a local man allegedly killing his dogs after a whirlwind of news stories, false allegations, candlelight vigils, and community support to help find the two labradors. We also talked about a Franklin County man being charged with a felony for eluding police while trying to get his daughter to the ER, jury nullification, and how ridiculous our justice system has become. We finished off by discussing proposed solar farms, what we're not being told, and upcoming meetings being held (with little to no promotion) that we can attend to ask these questions.
