167: #167: Are You Still At The Music?

Over the last few months on NO ENCORE we’ve interviewed many Irish artists at different stages of their careers. One point that continues to come up (either on or off the mic) is how hard it is to make a living writing music. It got me thinking about a question; Who actually is writing music full time anymore? There’s the obvious ones, the really successful acts that are at a very high level. and the music producer helping loads of upcoming acts develop. Then of course there’s the guys writing music for Film and TV. Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Ennio Morricone, all of those guys. Finally, there’s a whole range of other music writers working in Industries that we don’t really think about. We certainly don’t give them a lot of coverage. So today, we’re going to be talking to 3 Irish people, working full time writing music. You’ve heard their music, but you’ve probably never really thought about who made it. Hosted on Acast.
