Jesus asked the Father on the cross, “Father, why hast thou forsaken me?” Jesus had to descend below all things including the withdrawal of the Father’s spirit to understand all things that His glory might be complete. Jesus therefore has the capacity to understand our fears of abandonment and loneliness. We can turn to Him for comfort in those moments of despair that we all experience. Jesus is a comforter like the Holy Spirit. We should learn to thank Him for that comfort and companionship.
