We are free from the behaviors of selfishness, carnality and sensuality. Another sign is we love the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ more than anyone or anything. Lastly, why should we attempt to overcome the world? First, because Christ asked us to overcome the world and follow His example. The great blessing of the atonement is that it applies to everyone. Everyone can accept the invitation to draw upon the Lord’s strength to overcome the world. Christ can give power where our own weaknesses would prevent us from victory. He is our advocate and support. We can trust Christ to help us let God’s will prevail in our lives.
