It had a female supervisor and a lower level male manager. This was a lab for physicians to send in sick patient specimens to try and find out what’s wrong with them. Males would come in, do their job, and go home. Some of the females were like evil children who had no regard for patients’ health. Their behavior was borderline criminal. The female who I shared the work with would grab the smaller workload and then spend four hours of an eight hour shift in the breakroom talking. After I had been working the entire shift, she would try to time it so we sat down to enter results at the same time and then would ask me to help her with her typing. I wouldn’t help her and started doing my work in random order so she couldn’t tell how much I had left. This pissed her off. I changed shifts and it got worse. One girl didn’t like another who was always bragging about the new clothes she bought. She hid all the patient specimens the girl was working on. The female supervisor was going to let it go but the male medical director who was over everything heard about it. He told the supervisor “Either she gets fired or you get fired”. Another time two girls were caught running a scam. They would collect money from everyone to buy lunch. They would then buy a bunch of cheap pizzas and use the rest to go to an expensive restaurant. When work would provide food they got caught stealing that food. I overheard one girl giving another tips about getting pregnant and riding the government gravy train for life. She herself was going to have her tubes untied so she could get pregnant again and get more government money. We suspected one woman had Munchausen By Proxy and was making her kid sick to get attention. We suspected that she was taking bacteria specimens home and infecting her kid because he kept coming down with weird infections in places they don't usually show up. She was trying to have another kid but was too overweight so she got her stomach stapled in order to lose weight but burst the staples eating an entire bucket of KFC. There was an older woman who we called Crazy Mary after the song. Besides stealing people’s lunches, she was caught pretending to work but wasn’t doing anything with her patient specimens. She was constantly telling the male manager that somebody else wasn't doing their work when it was her. She finally got fired because she let a positive meningitis test for an infant sit around all weekend without calling the physician. A positive meningitis test requires a physician call because of its high potential for being fatal. Especially with an infant." The summary of the video is this and I quote: "In the 1970s, an international campaign demanded that governments recognise the value of unpaid work done in the home, primarily by women. Witness History spoke to one of the founders, Mariarosa Dalla Costa about the campaign." unquote. The video says that housework is the only work that isn't considered work. It's also the only labor you don't retire from. You also don't get wages for it. Back in the 1970s in Italy women demanded free money from the guberment. That politicians recognize that the value of unpaid work done in the home. The campaign was setup in 1972 by an international feminist collective. But instead of giving women free money the establishment encouraged women to go into the workplace. After that many women had to do their unpaid labor at home as well as the workplace. If Italy had printed money and handed it to housewives the inflation rate would have spiked through the roof but productivity in the economy wouldn't have gone up. Inflation benefits the wealthy asset holders. So when women went off to work on mass everything became more expensive and real wages began to stagnate. A man's wage used to be able to be enough to pay for all of the expenses of a household because men are more likely to band together and strike for higher wages or walk away from wages they see as an insult. Notice that in the last twenty or thirty years you hardly hear of strikes anymore? Do you really think that's not happening anymore because people are being paid a fair wage. You would expect worker strikes now more than ever with the high rates of inflation. But you don't see that because a mixed male and female workplace isn't a unified front. Mariorosa the organizer demanding wages for housework said that house workers had great power and that they could withdraw their labor and refuse to reproduce another generation of workers. In essence she was advocating that women go their own way back in the 1970s. I just sailed the high seas and found a copy of the documentary. The story is about Donald Cline and the 94 confirmed offspring that conceived in his fertility clinic with test tube babies. He told the mothers to be that he was going to use medical student's sperm and not use it more than three times each before switching donors. Instead of that he switched the sperm samples of his own and I guess tried to become the Ghenghis Kahn of Indianapolis. As I began watching the documentary I could only imagine what was going through his mind as he was doing all of this. Probably thinking to himself there goes another one and another one. After he did it a few times and didn't get caught he probably couldn't help himself and humans are addicted and hard coded for reproduction especially up to the age of forty. he probably didn't think there would ever be something like 23 and me in the early eighties while he was doing this and there isn't even a law that he violated. But since he did this Indiana has implemented a fertility fraud law. It's the first state to do so and is a lot less than the $500 fine and 1 year suspension he received for his first offense. Women steal sperm all the time and it becomes their property when they suck it out of condoms that were thrown in the trash and use turkey basters to bath their insides with it. A man is on the hook and there is no law to punish her. They put me in a sideroom, but I could still here the whole ward and the gossiping. On the day I was due to be released the female consultant went back on her decision. Her approach was to ask me if I wanted to leave. I said yes. She walked away and told the huddle of nurses but I could only hear and not see facial gestures. I was shocked to then hear a nurse say..." well I hope he dies ". Obviously the consultant had made out that it was against her advice? I was terrified and told my sister when she came to visit...she confronted the staff and they admitted the situation. I had had a stroke and so my brain was not functioning properly. If I stayed, I would have to trust this bunch of people with my life and I had heard what they thought about me (and men in general). If I left, I would it be risking my life? But I stayed. The nurses then started gossiping again, This time I confronted them directly. Every time I did this, this marked me for further bullying. The matron was female and heard my story. She went to the nurses' station and told them to stop gossiping. As soon as she walked away, the gossip and slurring started. Just making things up and doing impressions of me that made me out to be the bully. I am not that kind of person. The next day. I overheard the nurses carrying out their ultimate punishment of men. They used the psychiatric department to get men locked up. This was a legal way of imprisonment. Behind locked doors. With no trial. The courier arrived to take the male victim and explained to the nurses that he could not enforce this. The court can only authorize that. The nurses told him that it was the man's choice to be committed. The man was locked up "voluntarily" for 6 weeks. Low and behold on the day of my departure, the psych team arrived to evaluate me too. I put them on the spot and said that I had not shown any behavior that would indicate the need to be committed. I was sent home and the psych team was left shaking their heads. This was something that was done persistently on this ward. But....Most of the nurses were not part of this 'gang' that had formed. When they saw the psych team arrive for me, they expressed their annoyance. One saying "oh no...Not Andy.". Here's the short version of his story and I quote: "Sandman, I was dumb. I married a woman who was just getting clean of the needle. But she still loved the needle and would still shoot up water. She was obsessed with veins. 1 year or so later she got pregnant. Cried when I threw her last needle away. This was before she got pregnant. She refused to get off her daily xanax during pregnancy. I found out via phone calls and facebook. I got my mother to come over and watch my son and I left to figure this out. I got a bondsman and attorney. Spent $15k on a criminal attorney...he didn't do his job at all...just took my money. I divorced her. It cost another $10k. Child support was set at $1542 a month plus paying for medical and dental insurance. She moved in with her mom. She started selling her body at motels. Even when my son there. I could never prove any of this legally. The time for trial comes. My attorney was not ready.
