Missionary Minds
Paul Schlehlein
From the rural village of Mbhokota in Limpopo, South Africa, hear from the mind of a real-world missionary of almost 20 years. Paul Schlehlein–or "boti Paul / mfundisi" (brother Paul / teacher) as he is addressed in the podcast–hails from Wisconsin, America but has left to cross the world, a culture, and a language group to go and minister to the Tsonga people of northern South Africa. With his knowledge of the scriptures, a passion for church history, and lessons from the field he seeks to speak on issues of the faith, the family, and the fog of worldview confusion that plagues our day.

TARIF: Duped by Prosperity
Earlier this month in Nigeria, a 27-year-old man was shot and killed after taking a specially concocted potion he believed would make him invincible to bullet wounds. According to the Daily Post in Nigeria, the man was testing a traditional experiment prepared by an indigenous doctor. He told his friend to take hold of the gun, take aim and shoot. His friend complied. After his companion pulled the trigger, the victim collapsed immediately and the shooter fled.

TARIF: Discerning Climate Exaggerations
They say the limited resources that Africa has should be devoted to developing technologies and finding solutions for the patterns we observe in the climate. They presumptuously attribute many of the deaths from natural disasters and much of the poverty to climate change and prophesy that it will only get worse. This fear-mongering is meant to divert the people of Africa away from rational thinking and scientific reasoning.

MM 46: Where Should Parents of Big Families Find Encouragement?
"A father must labor daily to make his home, regardless of the size, a happy one. He's the leader. I don't buy the "as the mother goes, so goes the home". That's not biblical. I'm not vague with my children as to the glories of having lots of kids one day. I know there's a good chance several of them will not be capable, but if they are, there is no greater joy."

TARIF: Good News for Nigeria’s Economy
Late last month Visual Capitalist published an article entitled: “The Top Economies in the World (1980-2017)”... The article presented both disappointing news and excellent news for the continent of Africa. The bad news for Africa is that no African nation has ranked in the top 15 worldwide economies since 1980. This is no surprise as Africa has long been the poorest continent in the world, this despite Africa being the most resource-abundant continent on the planet.

TARIF: Hate Speech vs. Free Speech in South Africa
If shouting, “Kill the Boer (white Afrikaners), kill the farmer!” (while making gun sounds and hand-gun motions) is not hate speech, what is? If “explicit words meant to incite violence” still has anything to do with hate speech, surely Malema should’ve been behind bars long ago.
