Missionary Minds
Paul Schlehlein
From the rural village of Mbhokota in Limpopo, South Africa, hear from the mind of a real-world missionary of almost 20 years. Paul Schlehlein–or "boti Paul / mfundisi" (brother Paul / teacher) as he is addressed in the podcast–hails from Wisconsin, America but has left to cross the world, a culture, and a language group to go and minister to the Tsonga people of northern South Africa. With his knowledge of the scriptures, a passion for church history, and lessons from the field he seeks to speak on issues of the faith, the family, and the fog of worldview confusion that plagues our day.

The New Archbishop & the African Church – Some Warnings (TARIF 234)
Anglicanism was once a beacon of biblical influence—home to giants like J.C. Ryle, C.S. Lewis, and William Wilberforce. But today, the Church of England faces one of its greatest crises yet: the appointment of its first female Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally, a figure known for doctrinal compromise. What began as Queen Elizabeth I’s attempt to unite Catholics and Protestants has spiralled into centuries of spiritual erosion. In this episode, we trace Anglicanism’s historical roots, its decline into accommodation, and what it means for believers across Africa and beyond. Has the light in Canterbury gone out—or can revival come again?

The Danger of Date-setters (TARIF 230)
Every few years, another bold claim surfaces: “Jesus is coming back this weekend!” From William Miller’s Great Disappointment to South Africa’s Joshua Mhlakela, history is full of failed predictions about the Lord’s return. But why do Christians keep falling for them? In this episode, we unpack three biblical lessons: why dreams and visions can’t replace Scripture, how Jesus’ divine and human natures explain His words about not knowing the hour, and what it truly means to live ready for His return. God hasn’t given us the date—because He wants us to walk by faith, not sight.

The Evil Extortion Epidemic (TARIF 229)
In Zimbabwe and across much of Africa, citizens often fear the very authorities meant to protect them. Police extortion, bribery, and corruption have become so normal that people instinctively avoid law enforcement. But what does Scripture say about such evil? In this episode, we expose the spiritual roots and devastating effects of extortion—from impoverishing the hard-working to eroding trust in authority. Drawing from John the Baptist’s call to repentance and Paul’s teaching in Romans 13, we confront this sin head-on and explore what true justice and humility before God look like. Corruption may thrive—but its end is certain.

In this episode, we explore why boys matter—biblically, historically, and culturally. From Isaac and Samuel to Patrick, Tyndale, and David, Scripture and church history remind us that strong nations are built on godly men. How can families, churches, and communities raise boys who love Christ, lead with courage, and reject the world’s confusion about masculinity? The future depends on the boys we build today.
