Dave Davan, a farmer in the rural far north community of Herekino found two bottles of wine in his mailbox. Assuming they were a gift he drank them, little did he know one bottle had been laced with the deadly poison Paraquat. In December Dave lost his short battle and sadly passed away. Three years on his murderer walks free. Ryan journeys to the remote and isolated far north to find the answer to the question: Who Killed Dave Davan?Season FourOn the night of 9th November 1996, Alana Cecil, who had only recently turned 16, was excited to attend the Djerriwah Bonfire Festival in the small city of Melton, just out of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. When she left home that night it would be the last time her family would ever see her alive. Sometime in the early hours of November 10th 1996, someone or some people took a syringe and injected Alana Cecil twice, once in each arm, with a lethal dose of Heroin. They then dumped her body in the back driveway of a vacant home. Eight years later a DNA breakthrough identified the semen of two men on and in Alana's body. One being a 49 year old man known to Police, who when questioned by Police simply answered 'No Comment'.Neither these men, nor anyone else has ever been held accountable or responsible for Alana's death. And neither men have been able to offer a valid reason their DNA was present. For 28 years Alana's family have fought for answers, and justice for Alana. Introducing: One Minute Remaining
Welcome to episode one of 'One minute remaining' - Today we start the story of Dorice Moore and Abraham Lee Shakespeare, a story that has layer after layer but that is nothing short of mind blowing.I first contacted Dorice more than four years ago after reading about her story and we've been chatting on and off ever since. Dorice was charged and convicted for the murder of Abraham Lee Shakespear more than twelve years ago, a crime that she has always maintained she is innocent of. Dorice has done a number of interviews over the years with different journalists and programs but from what I've seen and heard she's never really been given the opportunity to tell her side of the story without prejudice from the interviewer.I am not here to prove her innocent or guilty, I'm simply here to allow her to tell her side of the story, a story that has fascinated and confused me the more I have delved into it.This is the first of many chats I will have with Dorice during this season as we not only hear the story from her side but also follow her journey as she fights to clear her name.https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/one-minute-remaining-stories-from-the-inmates/id1644995366Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/guilt.
