In this week’s episode we’re talking about changing the way the body looks - both the individual body and the Body of Christ. The quickest way to reshape your body is with more protein and more muscle. The quickest way to reshape the Body of Christ is for each of its individual members to be in good health. When individual bodies feel well, the entire Body of Christ shows up more vibrantly.Come listen to how we strengthen ourselves in spirit, mind and body so that we live into all God has planned for us to do. When we feel well, we serve well and, collectively, that makes us a greater force in the world. 188: Lean Mass vs Fat Mass

Lean Mass is the sum weight of your skeletal muscle, organs, skin, bones and body water. Fat Mass is the amount of fat in your body. As we age (which, sadly, starts in our 30’s) we begin to lose muscle mass. The less muscle we have, the worse our metabolism works. Muscle is one of our greatest metabolic assets because it serves as a storage tank for carbs. The less muscle we have to store glucose, the more quickly it turns to fat. Thus, we start conceding more lean mass over to fat mass which is a major metabolic nightmare!I recently had a body composition scan to assess my lean mass versus fat mass (scale weight doesn’t give you any insight into this important ratio). In this week’s episode, I’m telling you all about it in case it’s something you might want to do too. The Bible serves us up some really good insight when it comes to how and what we should eat. 185: Sacred Rest with Carly Stagg, FNP

God establishes the value of rest right from the beginning. (Genesis 2:3) But rest is SO much more than just sleep. Rest is stopping people pleasing. Rest is stretching your muscles. Rest is allowing time for God to pop creative ideas into your head. Rest is soaking in nature and beautiful art. Rest is unplugging from sensory overload. Rest is plugging IN to God’s Word. In this week’s episode, Carly and I discuss God’s call for us to rest and the different ways we can do that. We also talk about how our health takes a hormonal nosedive when we constantly put work before rest. Come take a deep breath, listen and be reminded why you’ve got to slow down sister. Your Almighty Creator calls you to rest and to know that your work is not the most important thing - He is.For more information and to access the show notes for this episode, visit my website here: https://www.thechristiannutritionist.com/podcast/185
