Tyler Wetherall on Secrets, Story and Identity - E36

How do our stories shape us and how do we shape them? In this episode entitled The Stories We Tell in Order to Survive, Amisha meets author and journalist Tyler Wetherall. Together she and Amisha take a deep dive into our understanding of truth, lies, secrets, and stories. By the age of 9 Tyler had lived in 13 houses in 5 countries and she believed this to be normal. Soon after she was to receive a shock revelation that would shake the foundations of her life as she knew it and her sense of personal identity. She then carried this secret close to her chest until finally writing her memoir. Tyler shares with us the story of her childhood and the circumstances and decisions which led to her unusual upbringing. But more than anything this episode is about the power we have to reconcile our past, and change our future.  “I genuinely believe it is almost impossible to choose one version of the truth, one version of a story that stands alone... I like to think of everyone's different stories all together like threads in a plait, you chose which thread to follow when you tell a story.” ~ Tyler Wetherall   Links from this episode and more at https://allthatweare.org/2018/10/25/e36-tyler-wetherall-on-secrets-story-and-identity-the-stories-we-tell-in-order-to-survive/ For Amisha's book INTUITION - https://amisha.co.uk/intuition/ Be part of AllThatWeAre community by using this link,  https://love.allthatweare.org/membership

David Wood on AI (Artificial Intelligence), Ethics and Technology - E35

What must we understand today to make good choices about the technologies of tomorrow? In this episode entitled Sustainable Superabundance or a New Dark Age for Humanity?, Amisha sits down with futurist, technologist and author David Wood. David was among the earliest pioneers of mobile phone software in the days before the dawning of the world wide web. He has worked in mobile and emerging technologies for 25 years, and now acts as an independent futurist, consultant, and writer. David tells why we cannot leave the setting of appropriate limits and ethical codes around technology to the corporations who produce it, how Hollywood dangerously misleads our perceptions of future technological advances and why we cannot always trust our instincts to guide us in these matters. Together Amisha and David dive into the ethics and morality of technological development, how to live in a world with no work and what we need to learn today to be ready for tomorrow. “We will only get to humanity 2.0 by using the very best of humanity 1.0.” ~ David Wood   Links from this episode and more at https://allthatweare.org/2018/10/18/e35-david-wood-on-ai-artificial-intelligence-ethics-and-technology-sustainable-superabundance-or-a-new-dark-age-for-humanity/ Learn more about  London Futurists - https://londonfuturists.com/ For Amisha's book INTUITION - https://amisha.co.uk/intuition/ To work with Amisha one on one, visit https://amisha.co.uk/leadership/

Prabhavati Dwabha on Child Poverty, Education and Philanthropy - E34

How can one person make a difference to overwhelming poverty and suffering? “Life is better if you are honestly doing your best to make a difference for another being. If you know that in living your life - however you are - you are also making a significant  difference for others who would otherwise have no chance… You live different, you feel different, you are different.”~ Prabhavati Dwabha In this episode entitled Breaking the Cycle of Poverty, Ignorance, and Homelessness, Amisha sits down with Prabhavati Dwabha, a prolific humanitarian who left a career in Hollywood to come to India. She has been working to provide a home, education, love and nourishment to hundreds of ‘at risk’ children for 25 years. All the children in Prabhavati Dwabha’s care came from very traumatic backgrounds where they were unlikely to survive without rescue. She tells of the experiences that helped her to overcome the belief that one person cannot make a difference in the face of overwhelming suffering. Together she and Amisha speak about karma yoga, the joy of giving and how to fight complacency towards poverty in the place where we live. “The whole thing if you live in the street in the garbage is that nobody cares - otherwise why would you be there? So if someone comes to where you are and brings a giant watermelon, they care.” ~ Prabhavati Dwabha Links from this episode and more at https://allthatweare.org/2018/10/12/e34-prabhavati-dwabha-on-giving-child-poverty-education-and-philanthropy-breaking-the-cycle-of-poverty-ignorance-and-homelessness/ For Amisha's book INTUITION - https://amisha.co.uk/intuition/ Be part of AllThatWeAre community by using this link, https://love.allthatweare.org/membership To work with Amisha one on one, visit https://amisha.co.uk/leadership/

Jamie Catto on Creativity, Shadows and Panic Attacks - E33

Where does true creative inspiration come from and how do we invite it in? “Think of [creativity] as a unicorn. People so want to make money out of their creativity. You end up saddling your unicorn like a donkey to carry your self esteem issues up a hill and it is not its job.” ~ Jamie Catto In this episode entitled One Giant Leap for Permission to Feel, Amisha sits down with creative catalyst, musician and mischief-maker Jamie Catto. Jamie seeks to serve as a ‘walking permission slip’ for people he meets, giving permission for himself and others to express themselves more fully and authentically in the world. Together he and Amisha discuss the roots of suffering and melodrama in our lives, the influence of the patriarchy and how listening holds the key to all that we seek. We hear Jamie’s perspective on the treasures that can be found in the painful experiences of life and how to use our suffering sustainably. He speaks candidly about his experiences of panic attacks, death and suicide, lets us in on his relationship to creativity and the muse and reveals where the true genius ideas come from. Roma Norriss on Parenting, Listening and Relationships - E30

How can changing the way that we approach parenting create a brighter future for all of us? In this episode entitled Birthing & Raising a Better World, Amisha takes time to connect with birth worker and parenting consultant Roma Norriss. Roma believes that parenting is the most potent form of activism available to us, and that if just a single generation of children have their emotional needs met, we will see a very different world. She shares stories from her own journey as a parent and explains how we can actively support our kids to stay with their feelings and use their body’s wisdom to heal. “When parents respond to their children with connection, we will see adults who have a lot less hurt to act out on, and it's that hurt that drives us to plunder our planet's resources and make off-track decisions and fosters greed and consumerism and lack of consciousness around the planet. So when we are building humans that are less damaged, we are going to start seeing a world that is less damaged, and I really don't think that is going to take a long time.” ~ Roma Norriss   Links from this episode and more at  https://allthatweare.org/2018/09/13/e30-roma-norriss-on-parenting-listening-and-relationships-birthing-raising-a-better-world/ For Amisha's book INTUITION - https://amisha.co.uk/intuition/ To work with Amisha one on one, visit https://amisha.co.uk/leadership/
