News flash, The Boy is unfazed by any of your words on Twitter. Next, and for the first time ever, Will doesn't have a reason (excuse) for why Nebraska lost this weekend. He takes this loss on the chin but does put Ohio State on upset alert when they play Nebraska. Taylor makes an early exit, but Will welcomes a couple of first-time guests on the bus, Nashville Soccer Club studs Walker Zimmerman and CJ Sapong. Comp gets out in front of himself and quickly tells the boys he knows nothing about soccer except for what he has learned from Ted Lasso. After everyone gets acclimated we find out that Walker might be one of the top fantasy football GM's in the country and is trying to get any kind of inside scoop he can out of Comp. Next, CJ explains how the youth system in the US works and as far as Will is concerned, the US essentially is selling kids and that's that. Walker tells us about the full circle moment he put on the captains' arm band for the national team, and what it's like balancing playing for the national team and Nashville SC. Towards the end CJ opens up about his lowest moments as a pro, how it led him to meditation, and how he's grown as a player and person because of it. Recorded: October 25, 2021 | With Halloween right around the corner Comp decided it was time to make a call and bring in a guest co-host. Who better to call than Mr. Halloween himself, Jelly Roll. Both of the boys were giddy to get into the Spooktober talk, but there were some other things that needed to be covered first. Jelly had a rough past couple of weeks and the bus is a place where you can let it all out. Comp and Jelly talk through the details of Jelly Roll's depression and where it stems from. We learn about how Jelly's mom's battle with depression ultimately led him to making music. Then Jelly explains what rock bottom looked like for him and how those moments shaped his music, and the way he lives his life. Recorded: October 16(and 19th), 2021 | The boys had another huge weekend, but this time it was in Knoxville and Comp was joined by two more legends. Big Cat and Brandon Walker. A lot happened over the weekend so it was only right that Comp started off with a current event/weekend wrap up. The Boy talks about the situation going on with his former coach, Jon Gruden. Then he dives into how he would feel if he was in Patrick Mahomes shoes dealing with some family members who seem to find their way into the headlines for certain things. Next, we dive a little deeper and Comp describes the types of mental battles a professional athlete goes through during a season. He talks about what those highs and lows are like and some of the ways to deal with the negative thoughts. (55:53) It took a trip to Knoxville but Big Cat and Brandon Walker finally made their debut on the bus. We learn pretty quickly Big Cat prefers to only talk to Taylor if Will is present, even if it's a text message. (1:18:38) Brandon and Big Cat name their top five funniest Barstool Employees and you may or may not be surprised about who is and who is not on the list. Then, Big Cat and Brandon give Will some major Dad knowledge/advice on Will and try to prepare him for how much his life is going to change in several months. Recorded: October 11, 2021 | To say this past weekend was one for the record books would still be an understatement. The bus left Nashville for the very first time and made it to its' first ever college football game-day. Michigan vs Nebraska in Lincoln. Since the bus was in Nebraska for the weekend it was only right that we brought on head football coach and Nebraska legend, Scott Frost, and athletic director, Trev Alberts for a special interview segment before the Michigan game. They dive into the current culture at Nebraska, Michigan vs Nebraska in 1997 and what would've happened, and plenty of other stories. (11:10) Then we jump back into the current events part of the pod where Will begins to give his recap and share his frustrations about the result of the game. But then something crazy happens. The door creaks open, some sort of fight song can be heard off in the distance, the boys are confused... and all of the sudden... BOOM. Taylor surprises the boys and is clearly here for one reason, to champion Michigan and rub Nebraska's loss in Will's face. Will and Taylor immediately start arguing about the game and how the refs were the only reason Nebraska lost but also the only reason Michigan didn't blow them out. The boys finally make up and agree to move on from the game when an important question is raised. Where should the bus go next? There are rumors it could be in Knoxville this weekend, but other destinations have also been thrown into the mix. Recorded: September 7, 2021 | Ever since his rookie season Jeffery Simmons has been eager to get on the pod. So the boys decided to give the youngin a chance and he rose to the occasion. Jeff starts things off by telling the boys a little bit more about his upbringing in Mississippi, and how his mom inspires and motivates him to be the best player he can be. We also learn that Jeff was known to be a little bit of a cry baby back in the day. Next we find out why the former 5-star recruit chose Mississippi State over a school like Alabama. He says no money was involved but Taylor and Will are still a little skeptical. Prior to the NFL draft Jeff was a projected to be a potential top 5 pick, but tore his ACL a couple of months before the combine. He takes us through the mental side of the recovery process and how he was able succeed almost immediately when he returned. Then we go even deeper. The boys discuss who the most handsome man on the Tennessee Titans is and where they rank. We learn that Jeffery thinks Will is ugly but also that Jeff took the same route as Will when it comes to his teeth. As the pod winds down we hear about where Jeff ranks the boy Quenton Nelson on his list of top interior lineman in the NFL. According to the tape Jeff got the best of Q this past season but the respect is high between them.
