In this episode, I discuss the ongoing decentralized revolution and the recent banking crisis in the United States. Multiple banks have collapsed, surpassing the 2008 financial crisis. I talk about the trend towards central bank digital currencies and how it eliminates the personalized touch of local banks. The failure of First Republic Bank is a clear example of this centralization. While depositors were protected in the short term, it reinforces the dominance of big banks like JP Morgan. This consolidation has drastically reduced the number of banks in the US over the past 30 years. I have invited Natalie Smolenski to join me in the studio to discuss Bitcoin and mining. We discussed the hostile attitude of policy makers towards Bitcoin, which is making it difficult for Bitcoiners to engage in good faith dialogue. Natalie suggests that the best way to deal with Bitcoin's enemies is to keep building and create alternatives that make them irrelevant. I agree with her and say that entrepreneurs need to step up and build. We also discuss the overlap between the circles of people who are hostile to cryptocurrencies and those who are hostile to technology in general. Technology makes our current government obsolete, here's why. I just finished reading an amazing book called "The Revolt of The Public" which goes back through history and about how technology changes the way we communicate and act. It explains many problems that we see today, specifically the problems with the loss of trust of Institutions and the way that this top-down control works and of course the way that the economic model is mimicking the complex system of information. So I sat down with the author of the book for an amazing conversation, Martin Gurri joins me and we are going to discuss the book itself, the fourth and fifth wave of communication and how the parabolic increase in the rise of information is making the current forms of government obsolete. Then we go through recent history to look at revolutions that happened from 2011, like the Occupy Wall Street and so much more!
