Bill Bruford spent a working life as an internationally-known musician with Yes, King Crimson, Bruford, and Earthworks before stepping out of practice to investigate aspects of creativity in popular music performance. Having earned his PhD from the University of Surrey in 2016, he now writes and lectures on the topic, travelling extensively to multiple European and North American institutions. His latest book Uncharted: Creativity and the Expert Drummer, University of Michigan Press (2018),  guides the reader through the many dimensions of creative performance, and offers fresh insights into in-the-moment interactional processes in music.  Bill lives in the Surrey Hills in the UK with his wife, Carolyn. Pete Parada is a professional musician who has performed or recorded with Face To Face, my Chemical Romance, Devo, The Offspring, Saves the Day, deco, Alkaline Trio, Rob Halford, and Chris Shiflett as well as the Tim Pool band, and his new band called The Defiant.  He now has his own studio called Imposter Syndrum where he records, composes and collaborates. Pete is a powerhouse whose passion heard in his playing carries over into his valiant championing of justice and humanity.

Dr. Dina McMillan, a social psychologist and author, delves into her book discussing why women are drawn to emotionally dangerous men. She critiques media portrayals and societal influences on romantic preferences while offering strategies for healthier relationships. Gary Chaffee’s career spanning over 50 years has had him traveling and teaching students worldwide, as well as being the Chairman for the percussion department at the Berklee School of Music in Boston. During that time, some of his students were Vinnie Colaiuta, JR Robinson, Steve Smith, Kenwood Dennard, and many others who went on to utilize Gary’s teachings in their own careers. He has also authored many books explaining and demonstrating his unique ideas, among the most popular being the Patterns series.  As a performer he has played with such luminaries as Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius, Bill Frisell, Kermit Driscoll, Mick Goodrick, and many others, as well as a duo that he formed with fellow percussionist Steve Houghton, known as the Whirly Birds. PETE ZELDMAN Pete Zeldman is a uniquely creative musician who is as original as he is iconoclastic in a sense.  I first met Pete many years ago and I had never heard an approach like his.  It's one thing to hear certain rhythmic events or certain textures.
