35: Inside College Soccer LIVE: Q&A Week 3: More Questions from our Facebook Groups

This episode is from our LIVE Q&A we are holding weekly on our Social Media platforms (Thursdays 7pm Eastern Time). We were sent questions by the audience (feel free to submit yours at www.sportsrecruitingusa.com/podcast) and we answered as many as we could in an hour. Some of the questions covered were; When coaches ask me to keep them updated  How often should I send them new highlights ? I don't want to annoy them but I don't want them to forget me either . I have a D3 player who will get another year of eligibility since he came in 2020. He’s planning to go to grad school and wants to play, but no clue what that process looks like. What does recruitment look like for experienced athletes in this scenario! Is it too late for foreign 2023s? Does a college team with girls choosing to transfer after this season (2022) open slots/opportunities for uncommitted 2023’s My son is a college freshman in a D2 school which was not his choice. Because of COVID he was not able to play and be seen so he lost an important chance. He is a very talented player with lots of achievements firing his soccer career. He is very dedicated and passionate and suffers to play in a team where he is the only one to actually care. He is looking to transfer and join a better level, dedicated team. What is the process? I would like to help him but don't know where to start from. Thanks for any advice. My Senior son is/was being recruited by several schools (mostly D3)- he just finished his HS season and although the team lost early in playoffs, he had a fantastic season! Both as a player and a leader. He’s reached out to a few of the schools he had been talking with and it’s been radio silence from a few. Some have responded but some haven’t. We’re just not quite sure why since his performance this season was so good although they may not know all his stats, etc… Club season starts in a few weeks but he’s the only senior on his club team (the rest are juniors). And I think most showcases for his team won’t be til spring and it’ll be too late then for him to get exposure to more colleges, right? He’s already submitted some of his college applications and is still finishing a few others. What should he do now?! TIA!! College coaches that send out invites to come and visit and train with the team then don’t reply to your emails. At unofficial visit to midsize D1, what should a player/visitor wear? Playing time and opportunities need to be earned. That said, if my daughter (2024) is fortunate enough to be recruited, at what point in the recruiting process with interested coaches, is it the right time for her to ask about that coach’s vision for her coming into the program (playing time as a freshman, redshirting, working her way onto the pitch, etc…)? Thank you! What’s the best app to make a highlight video to send to coaches. Plus much more. This episode is brought to you by Sports Recruiting USA, the College Soccer Recruiting Experts. 34: Inside College Soccer LIVE: Q&A Week 2: Answering Questions from our Facebook Group Members

Some of the questions covered were; Do college coaches put a lot of stock in players rankings on certain platforms that parents have to pay a membership to join and see the information Where are the different men’s levels (D1, D2, etc) at in recruiting 2024s? Should you accept a preferred walk-on spot just to be on a Elite D1 soccer team. What if your player is not getting any interest from the coaches she has reached out to? No school she’s interested in has seen her play live and we don’t have great video. How do we help her spark interest? My daughter is a junior, playing ECRL, and the high school season starts in late November. Is it better/more prudent to contact coaches now, or wait until the college season is over? Would college coaches even look at emails or videos while their season is still in full swing? Thank you Will moving from MLS Next to ECNL as a 16 year old look bad to a college coach? How do you answer this when asked why I changed clubs? Plus much more. This episode is brought to you by Sports Recruiting USA, the College Soccer Recruiting Experts.
