"Resilient Kids: Raising Them to Embrace Life with Confidence" with Dr. Kathy Koch

In this episode, the guys interview Dr. Kathy Koch about her new book "Resilient Kids: Raising Them to Embrace Life with Confidence." From her website: Dr. Kathy Koch (pronounced “cook”) is the Founder and President of Celebrate Kids, Inc., based in Fort Worth, TX, and a cofounder of Ignite the Family, based in Alpharetta, GA. She has influenced thousands of parents, teachers, and children in 30 countries through keynote messages, seminars, chapels, and other events. She is proud to be represented by the Ambassador Speakers Bureau of Nashville, TN. She is a featured speaker for the Great Homeschool Conventions, on the faculty of Summit Ministries, and a frequent presenter for Care Net, Axis, and other organizations. She speaks regularly at schools, churches, and pregnancy resource centers. Dr. Kathy earned a Ph.D. in reading and educational psychology from Purdue University. She was a tenured associate professor of education at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, a teacher of second graders, a middle school coach, and a school board member before becoming a full-time conference and keynote speaker in 1991. She has loved Jesus for years and her faith and desire to serve and glorify God is the foundation of her ministry. About Resilient Kids: Children need to believe their future is bright. The more disappointments they don’t recover well from, the less likely they are to dream. When they do not process challenging experiences well it can lead to defeat, rather than encourage them to grow and mature. Far too many children don’t grasp their strengths and, as a result do not believe they can overcome negative encounters. Apathy sets in. Discouragement persists. Arguments rage. Mental health suffers. Children need to be resilient and when they develop this ability and make wise choices it becomes part of their character. Furthermore, they need parents who help them to learn from negative experiences and who allow them a certain measure of struggle. In Resilient Kids moms and dads will learn the power and purpose of resilience and how to parent so as to make it more likely their children will utilize this character quality. Discipleship Series 2023: The Dynamic Duo

In this second part of a three-part series on modern-day discipleship, we bring back Joe Svoboda and bring in Jeff McDaniel. Building on the last episode and the fact that we need to understand our God-given identities, the guys bring into the fact that Christians then have a mission to undertake...but in community with others. Humans, and Christians, are neither made nor called to operate alone. Therefore the next step after learning our identity is to determine the mission and get after it. Listen in as the guys talk through this important topic!

The Road Less Traveled with Joe Svoboda

While Christianity and the Church is growing in some parts of the world, there is a noticeable decline of Christianity in western churches. Why is this? In this first of a three-part series on modern-day discipleship, we interview Joe Svoboda. Joe is the founder of "Reproducible Discipleship." Having served as a discipleship consultant for ministries all over the United States, Africa, Asia and SE Asia, Joe has had the privilege of watching believers grow in discipleship competence with results that transcended cultural barriers. Additionally, he has seen those disciples go on to disciple others, who are now discipling others, who are now discipling others. This generational view of disciple-making is one way in which the western church can start to experience the revival that is definitely needed. Listen in to hear Joe's wisdom about identity and generational discipleship. Identity > Resolutions

As the calendar flips to a new year, many people often take the opportunity to make resolutions to change something, or do something, or not do something...because they believe something about themselves that guides their behavior. That's all well and good, but if all of this is based on a false identity that we have come to believe, then any resolution we make will likely fall apart. In this episode, Dave and Dante discuss the importance of realizing our "kingdom identity" and listening to who (or what) God calls us to be. Once we get that implanted into our being, there's no limit to where He will take us! God's word about our identity: Jeremiah 29:12-13...you are heard! 2 Timothy 1:7...you have power, love, and discipline! John 15:16...you are set apart! Ephesians 1:7...you are forgiven! 2 Corinthians 5:17...you are redeemed! Romans 8:37-39...you are loved! Zephaniah 3:17...you are exulted over! "Journey Beyond Divorce" with Karen McMahon

Statistics show that nearly half of all marriages end in divorce (and that number goes up with multiple marriages). While the Legacy Dads are firm believers in preserving the covenant of marriage, they know there are times when it just doesn't (and can't) continue to be a viable option. In this episode, the guys sat down with Karen McMahon, founder of "Journey Beyond Divorce," a team of certified life coaches specializing in relationship and divorce coaching. In the interview, Karen discusses her own high-conflict divorce and how she was able to find her faith in God through it. She also describes some of the ways in which JBD coaches their clients through the often stormy waters of a divorce. Listen in to hear how Karen is able to use her God-given skills as a counselor and coach to help others through one of the most challenging personal times in a person's life.
