#52 - NICK "MACHINE" LAVERY | Fatherhood & The Warrior Mindset

Our guest in this episode is Nick Lavery. Nick is the founder and CEO of Precision Components LLC where he and Team MACHINE train, advise, enable, and inspire organizations and individuals to unlock capacity and increase capability. He is also the best-selling author of Objective Secure—the battle-tested guide to goal achievement. Nick is a warrior, leader, teammate, and most importantly a proud husband and father of two young boys. In this episode we cover Nick's incredible background, lessons learned from his service as a Green Beret as well as lessons for Fatherhood, and discuss a wide range of topics for mastering our life and achieving success. In 2013, while deployed to Afghanistan, he and his Detachment fell victim to an insider attack ultimately resulting in the amputation of his leg. Following a year of surgeries and initial recovery including the use of a prosthetic at Walter Reed National Medical Military Center, he returned to his unit. Refusing a military medical retirement, Nick set his sights on returning to operational status. In 2015, at the conclusion of a challenging, comprehensive assessment designed to evaluate Nick's abilities to operate, he returned to his Detachment and was subsequently deployed once again to Afghanistan conducting full spectrum combat operations. #46 - GEORGE HAYWORTH | From Separation to Restoration Pt. 2

This is Part 2 of George Hayworth's story. In this part we dive into the healing process for George both on a personal level with his childhood wounds and on a joint level in his marriage with his wife. George walks through the actions and resources and people that played a pivotal role in recovering from the damage he created in his marriage. In order to show up better as a husband he also had to heal and grow as a man. There is a great deal of lessons learned in this part 2 that you can apply in your own life. In addition to the story of restoration, we cover some broader topics like legacy, fatherhood, and some of George's personal stories. The lesson George hopes everyone will take from this episode is this: If you are willing to do the work and humble yourself to accept responsibility for your mistakes, you can have healing and restoration. George's marriage was on the brink of divorce numerous times and even included a separation, yet now his wife have celebrated over 10 years of marriage and are stronger than they ever imagined.
