The Five Stages of Sexual Awakening
The five stages of sexual awakening are: 1) erotic innocence, where newborns and young children experience pleasure without constructs or moralities; 2) erotic activation, when hormones kick in during adolescence and sexual awareness is heightened; 3) erotic exploration, where individuals in their teens and early adulthood discover their likes and dislikes in terms of sexuality; 4) erotic expansion, a stage characterized by the curiosity to slow down, make sex more spiritual, and expand pleasure beyond the physical; and 5) erotic wisdom, the final stage where individuals integrate their experiences and reach a self-referenced and self-validated understanding of sexuality, embracing ecstatic experiences and exploring from an inner space.
