Operating within conscious constraints, experimenting and adapting, and embracing the responsibility for choices are key insights in relinquishing the 'good little girl' mentality in business. In online business, blindly following rules without understanding the constraints leads to frustration when things do not work as expected. Instead, adopting a mature approach involves trying different strategies, being open to failure, and adapting based on results. This requires letting go of the desire to be told what to do and embracing the freedom and responsibility of running a business. While money is often used as a metric of success, it is not the sole measure, but it can provide valuable feedback. Overcoming the burnout and exhaustion that come from seeking direction and approval from others is crucial in building a successful business.
Hey hey babes β this week we're welcoming my friend & collaborator, grace allerdice, back to the pod for a conversation at the intersection of creative practice and self-employment.
Grace and I have a chat about what's been happening in our businesses lately, then discuss what it means to be a creator-led business, how constraints help our creativity flourish, and why we want to make less content, not more.
Join us for a friendly chat between two business BFFs, then click here to get on the mailing list for Living Systems. π¬
