The Economics of Attention

Human attention is auctioned and sold off to the highest bidder, not necessarily caring about the well-being of the individual. Advertising exists when someone is willing to pay more money to reach someone through a service than the person is willing to pay for the service. This economic calculation determines the existence of advertising.
