Standardization Across Ecosystems is Unlikely: “Users Have to Choose the Right Ecosystem”.

Standardization across ecosystems is unlikely. Users have to choose the right ecosystem for building hyperscalability. While there is a desire for a common standard, the challenge lies in determining the minimum viable protocol and circuits needed for cross-ecosystem interaction. Trustless bridging is possible between different roll-ups, but not seamless. Transferring assets from one secure roll-up to another incurs transaction fees. This defeats the purpose of scale. Users will have to pick an ecosystem wisely as it will be difficult to migrate. There is tension between standardization and the pace of innovation. More improvements, optimizations, and automation are expected in proof systems. The ZK stack offers a compelling framework for standardized proving and benefits from shared implementations with open-source technology.
