*The Difference Between Systems and Goals *

Goals provide clarity, direction, and act as a filtering mechanism, but they don't necessarily guarantee success. Winners and losers often have the same goals. What truly separates them is the process, habits, and preparation they follow, which is what I call the system. The system is the collection of habits and processes used to achieve a goal. While goals can be helpful for clarity, systems are crucial for making progress. Long-term thinking is goalless thinking because achieving a goal only changes your life temporarily. To truly make a lasting change, you need to focus on changing your habits and building a better system. It is the habits and rituals you follow each day that determine your success, not just the goals you set.
