Setting standards and paying attention to the small details are crucial for success. The score takes care of itself if we focus on the inputs. Just like Walsh and John Woodin emphasized, it starts with doing the small things right. Answering the phone appropriately or learning to lace up our shoes properly may seem insignificant, but they ultimately determine the outcome of our efforts. Monitoring and maintaining these standards is essential. This notion is echoed by Dion and Coach K, who emphasize the importance of the little things. They set new standards by correcting seemingly insignificant actions like walking instead of running on the field or improper behavior during team meetings, such as using phones. By instilling these new standards, they foster a culture of accountability and attention to detail.
