Maximizing your focus by taking breaks

To maximize your focus, it is important to consider how you are spending your most productive time each day. Instead of wasting it on activities that don't serve you well, dedicate that period to learning. Trying to focus for long periods of time can be counterproductive. High-performing individuals understand the importance of taking breaks throughout the day. They engage in activities like taking walks, riding bicycles, or simply sitting mindlessly. Our optimal learning happens in 90-minute cycles, but it's normal for focus to fluctuate at the beginning and end of each cycle. You can tap into your sense of these cycles to enhance your learning. Additionally, incorporating non-sleep deep rest or deliberate disengagement, like walking or running, accelerates the rate of brain plasticity.
