How to Answer the Greatest Weakness Questions in a Job Interview
When answering the greatest weakness question in a job interview, it is important to avoid mentioning weaknesses directly related to the job. For example, if you are interviewing for an investment bank, do not say your weakness is analytical skills, and if you are interviewing for the New York Times, do not say your weakness is writing. It is also advisable to avoid the cliché of saying that you are a perfectionist. Instead, mention weaknesses that are true but not disqualifying, such as public speaking skills that you are working to improve, difficulty in learning certain activities like skiing, or struggles with patience when others are not working as hard. The key is to provide a weakness that is authentic but does not raise red flags or disqualify you as a candidate.
