The founder of Red Bull launched the company in America by starting in one state to test the market before expanding nationwide. He disliked banks and debt, preferring to fuel growth with profits. The founder emphasized financial discipline, controlling costs and justifying expenses, despite the company's high profits. Employees described him as a perfectionist who expects a lot but also provides well above industry-average salaries and benefits, such as providing company cars for all employees. Former employees praised his loyalty, describing him as a gentleman who never forgets those who help him. Additionally, the company has unique internal traditions, such as serving a special mineral water called Luna Aqua at events to supposedly awaken spirits of life among Red Bull employees and associates.
