Overcome the Comfort Crisis
The Art of Manliness
*Get Out of Your Comfort Zone *
Life feels harder even though we have it pretty good today because our brain evolves to make relative comparisons. As we have more comforts introduced to our lives, we lower our threshold for what we consider comfortable. We also have a tendency to keep on moving the dial into comfort and convenience, becoming more dissatisfied with the new comforts we have. Similarly, once we've solved a problem, we don't think we have fewer problems. Instead, we go looking for the next problem to solve. This phenomenon is known as problem or comfort creep. In order to challenge ourselves and explore the edges of our potential, we can engage in physical challenges called Musogis. These challenges should be truly difficult with a 50% chance of success and conducted in nature. By pushing ourselves outside of our comfort zone, we can trigger our innate evolutionary machinery and learn more about ourselves, becoming more confident individuals.
