God's love is protective, promising that nothing enters one's life without His permission and intention to use it for good. Trusting in this promise transforms one's perspective on pain and challenges, acknowledging that God surrounds and cares for them constantly. The Psalm 23 highlights God's protection in various aspects of life, assuring that His care encompasses every direction. The infinite and individual thoughts God has that outnumber the grains of sand on the seashore illustrate how special and important each person is to Him. Embracing the belief that God is always present and watching over, ensuring that everything is ultimately intended for good, provides solace and reassurance in life's difficulties.

Without shepherds to care for them, the threats posed to sheep run the gamut, from losing their way to being attacked by other animals. Simply put, sheep thrive under the guidance and protection of their shepherd. In this week's message from John 10, Pastor J.D. takes us through Jesus' claim to be the "good shepherd." What is so remarkable about this shepherd is that his love for the flock leads him to not only protect them, but lay down his life for them. As believers, then, we can fix our eyes not on any dangers that may threaten to harm us, but on our good shepherd.
