Passive Training Activities to Build Up Focus
To improve concentration, training your ability to concentrate is important. Concentration is a skill that needs to be developed, not just a habit. Relevant training activities can be divided into two categories: passive and active. Passive activities involve becoming comfortable with boredom and lack of novel stimuli. Engaging in hobbies that do not involve screens, such as watching movies, reading books, or participating in outdoor activities, can help build resistance to distractions. Active training involves practicing maintaining focus on difficult tasks. Hobbies that require unbroken concentration, such as practicing a sport or solving puzzles, can enhance concentration skills. By incorporating both passive and active training activities, individuals can become more comfortable with boredom and improve their ability to concentrate on cognitive demanding tasks.
