Happiness Is Not Just About Positive Thoughts

Happiness is a personal concept that evolves over time and differs from individual to individual. It can be viewed as a default state when nothing is missing in one's life, leading to internal silence and contentment. Happiness is not solely about positive thoughts, as every positive thought contains a seed of negative thought within it. It is about the absence of desire, especially for external things, and being present in the current moment. Happiness lies in embracing the reality of what is, without attaching oneself to it or desiring to make it permanent. Nature has no concept of happiness or unhappiness, it follows an unbroken chain of cause and effect. Understanding the insignificance of the self can also contribute to happiness, as it eliminates the need to conform the universe to one's desires. Viewing oneself and life as impermanent allows for acceptance and a neutral state, which is actually a state of perfection and can lead to happiness.
