People's stories and experiences have different data points. It is important to remain open to the possibility that there may be better alternatives and not get complacent with what seems to work. The misconception that the brain stops changing and learning after a certain age has been proven wrong. Plasticity exists throughout the lifespan. The reluctance to accept this new understanding was due to the small group of people in power who resisted change. Getting older allows for greater openness and consideration of alternative ideas. It is crucial to question and challenge established beliefs and be open to unconventional ideas.
