The story of Noah's Ark contains symbolism related to death, burial, and resurrection, reflecting God's salvation through death and the motif of saving the world through a coffin. It is not just Noah, but also his family who is saved, indicating that they are saved because of Noah's righteousness and blamelessness. This concept illustrates a picture of Christ as the head of the new humanity, extending grace and salvation, akin to how Noah's family was saved by his righteousness. This further shows the connection to Jesus, as he is the head of the new humanity, blameless, and extends grace to save and adopt us into his family through his sacrifice and resurrection.
In this rebroadcast, we take a look at the flood. The flood is a difficult story for many. It’s a story of both judgment and salvation. For us, it may be hard to see Jesus in the midst of this story. But the New Testament authors, they couldn’t help but see him. David and Seth discuss how the world spiraled out of control, what God did about it, and how Jesus provides the solution for it all.
