Ghostly Hauntings in an Abandoned Mine Town
On October 22, 1913, a catastrophic mine explosion resulted in the deaths of 253 miners, with two additional fatalities occurring during the rescue efforts. This tragedy was followed by another explosion on February 8, 1923, claiming 123 more lives. The site, now an abandoned ghost town, primarily consists of an overgrown cemetery housing the remains of these miners. Visitors to the Dawson Cemetery have reported a multitude of paranormal experiences, attributing them to the spirits of the miners buried there. These experiences include sightings of moving lights reminiscent of miners' headlamps, sounds of low voices, moans, and laughter, as well as ghostly figures that vanish when approached.
