The Skill of Prompting
Prompting in a conversational interface allows for better and more targeted questions and narrowing down the prompt. Constraints, such as word count or specific words, can change the output. It is important to give the AI a persona to improve its responses. Remember that the AI has no personality and it is necessary to practice programming and iterate on the outputs. The AI has limited memory, so starting a new chat or redoing answers may be necessary. Improving in prompting takes time and there is no substitute for hands-on practice. The AI can adapt to the user's learning style and there are startups working on value-based AI. It can be difficult to overcome the tendency to treat the AI politely. As AI becomes easier to use, it may become more invisible and pleasing, but also less transparent in terms of what happens under the hood.
