Most of the time is spent on improving current processes and strategies, such as developing a better search engine like Amazon. However, the importance of transforming is also crucial. Transforming involves looking at what can be done next, such as Amazon expanding into AWS. This is a different exercise than optimizing the search engine and requires thinking about the boundaries of the current business. It is a fundamental aspect of strategy.
