The Weight of Grief
Grief can be overwhelming, even for those with unshakeable faith. The promise of eternal life does not diminish the pain of present grief. Jesus, too, weeps not for Lazarus' loss, but for the chaos of sin and the consequences of the curse. His tears represent empathy for the pain that humanity cannot escape on their own. Grief is heavy, and even the Son of God shares in it.
