The speaker shares their strategies for saving and finding valuable information for future reference. When reading physical books, they use small Post-It notes to mark brilliant sentences and then photocopy or scan the pages to save them in Evernote. For Kindle books, they utilize the Kindle to Evernote feature to automatically save highlights. When it's time to write a book, they search through their saved files and print out the relevant notes, writing additional notes on the paper. They prefer this system to avoid biased note-taking and to experience the thinker's ideas fresh when revisiting the book. In terms of audiobooks, they buy physical copies of the book and use their physical book system mentioned earlier. However, for podcasts, they recommend an app called Snipped, which allows users to create transcripts for podcast episodes and highlight passages to save in their notes app. They express the need for a similar solution for audiobooks.
