There’s no good or bad emotions, only good or bad responses to those emotions.

The principle of radical acceptance is to accept all emotional experiences, whether they feel good or bad. This means not fighting, resisting, avoiding, or suppressing emotions. It's important to remember that there are no inherently good or bad emotions; it is our responses to these emotions that can be healthy or unhealthy. For example, some people may respond to joy in unhealthy ways, such as excessive drinking or developing a sense of entitlement. When we feel bad, it is not about stopping those emotions, but rather finding ways to respond well in spite of them. Trying to stop feeling bad can lead to distraction and even worsen our negative emotions.
