The key mantra in writing is to make the point and get to it quickly, as readers are impatient. This impatience is not only limited to writing but also extends to watching TV and movies. People's attention needs to be caught within the first few seconds, and if not, they move on. Online writing has become snappier than print writing due to tools that track reader engagement, revealing that readers often don't go beyond the first few sentences if the content doesn't grab their attention.
